Dua & Forgiveness
Abu Hurayrah narrated the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayi Wasalaam
"There is nothing that is more noble in the sight of Allah than du'a"
(At Tirmidhi, Al Haakim and others)
"Caution will not be of any benefit against pre-destination, but du'a benefits (matters) that have occured and that are (yet) to occur. And indeed du'a meets with a calamity, and fights it untill the Day of Judgement."
(Al Tabarani and Al Haakim)
"Whoever the door of du'a has been opened for, then all the doors of mercy have been opened for him. And nothing is more pleasing to Allah that He be asked of the things that are granted, than good health. Du'a is of benefit to (matters) that have occured, and that are yet to occur. So I advise you, O servants of Allah, to make du'a"
Arir Ibn Abdillah stated that the prophet
"There is no person who asks Allah for anything that Allah gives it to him, or keeps away from him a similar evil, as long as he does not ask for something evil or for breaking the ties of kinship".
At this, a person said to the prophet Sallallahu Alayi Wasallam
"In that case, we will ask for plenty!"
The prophet Sallallahu Alayi Wasallam
"Allah (is even) more plentiful!"
There are three prayers that are sure to be answered: the prayer of the oppressed, the prayer of the traveler, and the prayer of a father for his son.
Our Lord descends to the nearest heaven every night, until there remains only a third of it, and says: "Who will call upon Me so that I may answer them? Who will petition Me so that I may bestow upon them? Who will seek forgiveness so that I may forgive them?"
[Bukhari & Muslim]
Ask Allah for forgiveness and ease in this world and in the next, for if you are given ease in this world and in the next, you will have attained success. [Bukhari]
Narrated Abu Hurairah (ra) that prophet Mohammad
"My mercy has preceded (excelled) my wrath"
